| Frequently Asked Questions |
What geographical area do you serve? We are based in southern Orange County, California. We currently have players from as far south as San Clemente and as far north as Irvine. What are the ages of your teams? We have boys teams from U8 - U18. Where are your games played? It depends on the age of the player. The younger players play at our home fields and in the surrounding areas. Older players, U15 and up, can play games throughout Southern California: Long Beach, Yorba Linda, San Clemente, Irvine, Mission Viejo to name a few. Tournaments have been played in San Diego and San Bernardino locally over the past year as well as a sand soccer tournament in Huntington Beach. Where are your practice fields? We have three main practice field locations, with eight total fields. Our three locations are Aliso Viejo Middle School, Castille Elementary School, and Mission Viejo High School. The MVHS location has lights for when the daylight hours grow short. Does the cost include uniforms? Yes. For further details, see first and second year contracts. How many times a week do you practice? Teams practice two times per week. There may be extra sessions at select times. Are there any special practices or skills clinics? We offer position-specific clinics at various times throughout the year. What League do you play in? We belong to the Southern California Developmental Soccer League. When is your soccer season? Our teams practice all year. There are two primary game-playing seasons: regular League play in the fall, and an optional shorter season in the spring. High School age teams do not practice or compete during the High School soccer season and adjust practices during High School Summer League. Is there an Academy for Younger Players? We start our soccer players at U5 - U8 under the direction of our Player Development Officer, Alexis Ubillus. We have three seasons for this age group: Spring, Summer and Fall. Contact Alexis Ubillus for details. At U9 we start to form teams to play in the SCDSL under the direction of our Academy Director, Dan Harrison. Dan oversees the Academy through U12, at which time those teams are assigned to the Director of Coaching, Roger Castle, Sr. Players can join SC Athletic Academy during any season, U5 - U12. Does the Club provide college and/or professional placement support for graduating players? Yes. Roger Castle, Sr. is responsible for college recruiting and coordinating opportunities for graduating players to be introduced to college coaches. In addition, with our alliance to the Los Angeles Blues Soccer Club, we have an opportunity to expose our players directly to professional tryout. Does SC Athletic have any additional relationships with outside entities? Yes. We encourage our players to participate in the Olympic Development Program. We are an affiliate memeber of the LA Blues. In addition, we annually take a team to Salford, England and participate at the Manchester City Academy. |

All or any of the above may sound petty in some instances, but these are simple guidelines that we as a club are asking to be followed. This is our part, as a youth organization providing a great activity for children, to also be good neighbors. We thank you for your cooperation and consideration in these very simple requests. | ||
